Canons during the centuries, from the 13th-century 'Sumer is icumen in' to contemporary canons, specially composed for this volume. Whether serious or purely for entertainment, there is material for any occasion imaginable: well-known favourites, funny or contemplative, even liturgical. Formally the pieces range from simple folk styles to complex and highly demanding compositions.
